Torin Perez – DreamAfrica Global Product Evangelist.
Torin’s role is to promote the importance of celebrating cultural diversity in the world. As the person who brings the company’s WHY to life, he has represented the company on various stages including TED and Harvard’s African Development Conference. He also champions the company in recruitment of new team members and on boarding of new strategic partners and sponsors. Outside of DreamAfrica, Torin is a motivational speaker and leadership development coach who engages audiences including Fortune 500 company leaders, university students, and entrepreneurs. Previously, Torin worked on an award winning digital and mobile advertising sales team at Bloomberg LP, and was recognized for significant contributions to the firm as a leader of diversity & inclusion initiatives. Torin is a recipient of the Posse Foundation leadership scholarship, graduating with his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Economics and Business from Lafayette College. In 2015, he was selected to represent the United States at One Young World, convened for leaders from 196 countries to address the United Nations Global Goals. Fun Fact: Torin is simultaneously known as Mr. Congeniality and Karaoke King among fellow TED Residents! Doing lots of serious work requires a balance of fun so he loves to sing and dance!
Brian Asingia, CEO and Cofounder The Pearl Dream, Inc.
Brian Asingia is a global citizen and the co-founder and CEO of The Pearl Dream, Inc and it’s subsidiaries known as the venture behind the DreamAfrica platform. He participated in the 2016 Global Business Management e4Impact MBA from ALTIS University in Milan, Italy through Tangaza University in Kenya. He graduated from Lafayette College in 2012, with an Engineering degree and an Economics minor. Upon graduation, he worked for the New York Stock Exchange as a Business Analyst for two and a half years. An alumnus of United World College USA and International House NYC, he is drawn to impactful global projects with his current focus being DreamAfrica’s role in increasing local cultural representation in digital media. Asingia’s technology, intellectual property policy and business acumen enables him to provide insightful strategic advice and execution. He consults on business strategy backed by data science, cyber security protection with testing and AI (deep learning) through The Asingia Intelligence Centre (AiC™). He is an author turned script writer finishing his first sci-fi novel, “The One Who Lives Forever”, exclusively on DreamAfrica.

Franco Abott, CTO and Cofounder The Pearl Dream, Inc.
Kenyan-born American Franco Eugene Abott is the CTO and co-founder of The Pearl Dream®. He graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in Computer Science and recently worked as a Senior Project Software Engineer at Lutron Electronics. He is the last born of 2 sons. His brother works as a Medical Doctor in Nairobi. When he was 10, he wanted to be an architect and dreamt of building great cities while paying attention to every last details like the sewer system. He was quite particular. He enjoyed watching Dexter as a kid. “I wished I had a lab under my house that I could use to invent all manners of things”.
Karen Ruggles, DreamAfrica Artist and Animator for Original Content.
Karen coordinates and delivers original content for DreamAfrica, a digital platform that seeks to increase diversity in digital content for children throughout the world. Karen Ruggles is a member of the faculty at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA and has been teaching Digital Art and 3D Animation since 2013. Karen is passionate about storytelling and seeks to support education–whether personal or formal–through multicultural representation.
Brenda Lare, CMO Africa.
Brenda Lare, CMO Africa, is the press and social media coordinator responsible for working with the team in writing, editing, sharing content, community engagement and mobilization, analytics and marketing across all of our social media and digital platforms including the press releases. She is currently a student of communication specializing in journalism. She is interested in utilizing her knowledge to realize positive social transformation. She’s passionate about the arts and their expression through various media as well as the safeguard of human dignity particularly the rights and welfare of children, vulnerable and marginalized.
